Dr. Reid nodded. AJ's answers weren't matching the information she'd been given. She stood slowly as Becca followed her out of the room. She approached AJ's sister and their father. "I don't even think he realizes he has a problem," said Dr. Reid. "I highly recommend you place him in psych for a while as well as some post-release counseling sessions."

"For him to have this problem for this long and still be in denial is dangerous," said Dr. Reid. "If this continues without proper treatment he could end up starving himself to death next time."

Steve sighed again as he nodded, he hated to do w=this to AJ but it was for the best.

"We'll keep him for a week to start," said Dr. Reid. "If he makes a strong attempt to recover we'll release him back to you with a treatment plan, the longer he tries to fight recovery, the longer we'll need to keep him."

"Unfortunately, when it comes to conditions like these it isn't a matter of getting better," Dr. Reid told them. "Eating disorders can never be fully cured, you only learn to manage the urge."

Dr. Reid nodded. "Maybe you'll be able to help with us with a big part of AJ's recovery," she said. "Most eating disorders aren't necessarily about weight, or about feeling fat, it's about control," Dr. Reid said. "The person feels like they have no control over a part of their life, so they try to find something they can, like their weight, do you have any idea what AJ's trying to control, what it is that's making him feel like he has no control at all?"
