You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha Delessio pushed her walker into the Drama Auditorium with a sigh. The five months pregnant brunette did not want to be there. She still wanted to be in her bed room sobbing out the death of her fiancé, but her mother would no longer allow that. She'd moved Samantha away from the scene of the accident and enrolled her in Westbrook High hoping a new start would help her grieving daughter. Her first day there had been anything but, promising, but at leat this was Samantha's favorite class.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Jeff Hardy sat in the back with his art pad, he enjoyed the class but he was working on a new picture. He looked up as the new student entered the auditorium. He walked up and inturduced himself "Hi i'm Jeff, your the new girl Samantha right."
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha nodded slowly. "Yep, that would be me," the brunette replied.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Jeff smiled warmly "Welcome to Westbrook High, or as i like to call it hell." joked Jeff with a small laugh.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha nodded. "You don't know what hell is," she said. "The past three months of my life I've lived it." She placed a hand on her swollen stomach.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Jeff blushed softly "Oh i'm sorry." he apologized quickly, afraid he had offended her.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha shook her head. "Don't mind me I'm just a bitter, pregnant widow."
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Before Jeff could say anything else the bell rang, he quickly asked "Would you like to sit next to me?"
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha sat though class smiling brightly when the teacher asked a question she knew the answer to.
"Can someone name the Broadway musical the following lyric comes from, the composer and finish the song?" the teacher asked before giving the quote.
Look, I find some of what you teach suspect
Because I'm used to relying on intellect
But I try to open up to what I don't know
Because reason says
I should've died three years ago
Samantha raised her hand and waited to be called on. "The song is Life Support from Jonathan Larson's RENT," Samantha said.
"Correct, now can you finish the song?" the teacher asked.
Samantha nodded. "There's only us, there's only this, forget regret, or life is your to miss, no other road, no other way, no day but today." Samantha sang in reply.

Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Jeff smiled at Samantha and leaned over and whispered "You sing beautifully."
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
"Get used to those lyrics people," the teacher said. "This year we will be putting on a production of Mr. Larson's rock opera."
Samantha beamed, she knew that musical inside and out.

Samantha pulled out a large purple notebook and also started to write, looking at Jeff out of the corner of her eye.

Jeff smiled as he wrote becomeing so absorbed in his work he almost did hear the bell ring. "Whats your next class?" he asked as they gathered up their stuff.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha glanced down at her schedule. "Creative Writing," she replied. "You?"

Jeff smiled "Yeah me too." he said as they started walking to the next class.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
"So you were in my Anatomy, Drama, and now Creative Writing," Samantha smiled. "You following me or something?" she joked.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Jeff laughed "I think its the other way around, your following me." he said as he walk into their next classroom, smiling when he spotted his best friend. He interduced them "Hey Samantha this is my best friend Peri, Peri this is Samantha she's new here."
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha smiled. "Nice to meet you," the southern brunette smiled warmly, one hand resting calmly on her baby bump.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Peri smiled shyly "Nice to meet you too." she said. Jeff smiled and they took their seats as the bell rung.
Re: You've Gotta Start Somewhere
Samantha smiled taking her seat as well. She looked over at Jeff and could feel the butterflies rise in her stomach. Maybe he was the new start she'd been looking for.
